Feliciano Chiriaco

Feliciano Chiriaco is an electroacoustic composer and sound engineer, born in Foggia in 1994. In 2020, he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Electroacoustic Music Composition from the "U. Giordano" Conservatory of Foggia, where he continued his studies and obtained a Master's degree in the same discipline. He studied with N. Monopoli, R. Zanata, C. Valentini, and D. De Simone. Since 2016, he has been collaborating with the "G. Curci" Culture and Music Association, providing technical assistance (sound engineer and recording) for artistic residencies, music competitions, and concerts. Among his most important collaborations is the CREATIVE TOOLS artistic residency, supported by MiBACT and SIAE as part of the Per chi crea initiative. In 2017, he participated in an artistic residency, supported by MiBACT, in Martina Franca (TA) for the InContemporanea workshop led by artists G. Bianco and P. Valente. He later published Rêve, an audio-video installation, in the book Live (Edizioni Paginaria). Since 2017, he has composed soundtracks for films, performances, and multimedia projects, including Distinti Saluti, Andrea Firenze, which won an award at Imperia Festival in 2018. In 2019, he composed Affinità Elettive for flute, bass clarinet, and live electronics, commissioned by Spaziomusica and premiered by Enrico Di Felice and Raffaele Bertolini the Spaziomusica Festival in Cagliari in 2019, and at Rafel Festival in Valencia in 2020. In 2020, he released the acousmatic composition Vacuus with the London-based label RMN Music, which was performed at several international festivals, including NYCEMF in New York, Muslab in Madrid and New Mexico, Atemporànea Festival in Buenos Aires, and Sound/Image in London. In the same year, he founded MID SIDE Aps, launching the record labels Empirica, Controra
Records, and Twiny Industry. In 2021, he collaborated as a sound engineer with Articolture for the production of the soundtrack
of the short film Silvia’s Game, supported and produced by Emilia Film Commission. Also in 2021, he composed Origine for viola and live electronics, which was premiered during the multimedia performance Il Diavolo nel Campanile at the Auditorium of GOS in Barletta on October 9, 2021. In 2022, he composed Tragitto for flute, vibraphone, double bass, and live electronics, which was performed in its world premiere on May 20, 2022, at Electroacoustic Sounds Festival at the Conservatory U. Giordano of Foggia. In 2022, he also participated as a live electronics performer and sound designer in the project Pangui e la maschera di Leon, curated by Mariano Paternoster, in collaboration with the Instituto de Expresión Visual de la Facultad de Filosofía, Humanidades y Artes of the Universidad Nacional de San Juan, Argentina. In 2023, he released Solitudo, an audiovisual work, which was performed during the concert Return 0 at the Conservatory U. Giordano of Foggia, during the concert Tra Immagini e Suoni in the SoundLab concert season of the Beathoven Association in Barletta, and finally at Atemporànea Festival 2023 at the Piazzolla Conservatory in Buenos Aires. In 2023, he also performed as a visual artist during the concert Textures for flute, electronics, and live visuals at Il Ghetto in Cagliari, during the Spaziomusica 2023 Festival, and participated in the third edition of the REF – Resilience Festival, held at the Museo Civico of Foggia, the Palazzo Dogana of the Province of Foggia, and the Conservatory U. Giordano of Foggia. In 2023, he won a Puglia Sounds grant for the project Erosione Inversa, together with Niki dell'Anno, Andrea Resce, and Nunzio Ferro, and produced the album Al di là dei sogni e delle piccole storie, released by Fortezza Bastiani Editore. In 2024, he presented the software Pitabender at the Maker Faire in Rome. He is currently a professor of Electroacoustic Music Composition at the Conservatory of Parma
