Fabiana Ciampi

Fabiana Ciampi is a multifaceted artist in the musical field, with a broad education and a rich professional path. Organist, pianist, harpsichordist, fortepianist, she studied at prestigious institutions such as the ROYAL ACADEMY OF MUSIC and the ROYAL COLLEGE OF MUSIC in London, winning various scholarships and obtaining a diploma in ‘Early Music Studies with honours’. She has deepened her skills in piano (R. Cappello, P. Guarino, A. Schiff, N. Akopian, W. Kim), harpsichord (V. Black, R. Woolley, K. Gilbert, T. Pinnock, S. Kujken, E. Kirkby, P. Goodwin, C. Tilney), fortepiano (P. Badura-Skoda, C. Mastroprimiano, M. Guido, M. Aschauer) and organ under the guidance of prominent names such as Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Guy Bovet and Monika Henking. Her academic career is consolidated by various research projects and editorial and recording collaborations (Lim, Tactus, Stradivarius, Suvini-Zerboni) that have led her to perform in important events in Italy and abroad. Since 1994 she has begun to study manuscripts for keyboard of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries for a historically informed performance practice (Oxford, Geneva, Bologna, Milan). Among her awards are the ‘Britten prize’ (RAM, 1990), the ‘Van Someren Godfery Prize’ (RCM, 1993) and the second prize (I not awarded) at the I INTERNATIONAL BAROQUE SINGING COMPETITION (Naples, Fondazione Pietà dei Turchini, 2004). Strongly committed to the protection of the ancient organ heritage, as president of the ASSOCIAZIONE ARSARMONICA (APS) since its foundation (2006), she has organized various organ festivals to safeguard many instruments of the rich Italian organ heritage (‘Organ itineraries in the province of Bologna’). In 2019 she founded the VOX ANIMAE festival, dedicated to Marian organ and choral music and LE MESSE DEGLI ARTISTI (Santa Maria della Vita). For some years she has been the artistic director of the festival VESPRI D’ORGANO A SAN MARTINO (now in its 28th edition), which celebrates the extraordinary Renaissance organ of the Basilica of San Martino (Bologna), an Italian excellence, built with art and mastery by Giovanni Cipri (1556). In addition to art and teaching, Ciampi is involved in the political life of her municipality (head of the minority councilors list) demonstrating a full commitment to culture and the community la comunità.
