Curriculum vitae
Daniela Fantechi (1984) is an Italian composer and researcher.
She graduated with first-class honours with a Master in Musicology at the University of Florence in 2009. She studied Composition at Conservatory Luigi Cherubini of Florence, with Rosario Mirigliano and Paolo Furlani, and, at Kunstuniversität, in Graz, with Beat Furrer, Clemens Gadenstätter and Georg Friedrich Haas.
She has attended several masterclasses and summer courses, such as Impuls, Acanthes, Darmstädter Ferienkursen, etc. She was in Vienna (January-March 2016) for the Artist-in-Residence Programm, by Kultur Kontakt, Österreich, and in Graz (February- April 2017) for the St.A.I.R, Artist-in-Residence Programm, by Steiermark, Österreich.
In 2022 she got a PhD in Artistic Research with the thesis Composing with piezo, at the University of Antwerp and at the Orpheus Instituut in Ghent (BE). Here she worked as part of the research cluster Music, Thought and Technology.
Her compositions have been performed in Italy, Austria, Spain, Portugal, France, UK, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Denmark.
Since 2011, she is part of the ensemble Blutwurst, founded together with musicians involved in radical improvisation and contemporary classical music. The ensemble research is devoted to the acoustic exploration of sustained tones and slowly transformed pattern of sounds. (www.blutwurst.it).
