After graduating in piano and composition at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” - Milano, he specialised in musicology at the “Università degli Studi” - Milano and get his PhD in musicology at the “Università degli Studi” - Pavia.

He published three monographs: about Paul Hindemith (2009), Gino Negri (2011) and, with Enrico Baiano, about Domenico Scarlatti (2014).

He has worked closely with many professional journals (“Rivista di Analisi e Teoria Musicale”, “Hindemith-Jahrbuch”, “La Cartellina”, “L’Offerta Musicale”), dealing mainly with instrumental and vocal music from 18th to 20th century.

He worked together with Emilia Fadini on critical edition of the 9th book of "Sonate per clavicembalo" by Domenico Scarlatti for the publisher “Ricordi”; now he is editing the 10th book of the same collection.

Marco Moiraghi is very active in teaching expecially as regards the children education.

He is entitled to teach music to children using the method “Children’s Music Laboratory” by Elena Enrico.

He teaches “Guida all’ascolto della musica” as part of “Corsi Popolari Serali di Musica” at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” - Milano.
